The position requires a candidate to be able to perform regular service technician work. In addition, the ability to be proficient in daily maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs of grocery refrigeration rack systems.
The position requires the candidate to have a minimum of 4 years of parallel rack experience.
SUMMARY: Troubleshoots and diagnosis of customer’s equipment (Refrigeration, Hot Foods, Ice Machines, and HVAC) and completes necessary repairs to make the equipment run as efficiently as possible. Performs maintenance and repairs of grocery refrigeration rack systems. Completes preventative maintenance on equipment as needed. May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communication skills (Speaking, Listening, Writing, Understanding): the ability to effectively communicate with the vice president of service, service dispatcher and staff, sales account representatives, and customers.
- Safety: Knows, understands, and follows all work health and safety procedures.
- Service Truck Operation & Maintenance: Follows all company required maintenance schedules. Follows safe driving practices. Maintains service truck, inside & outside, in an organized manner.
- Problem Solving: Determines problems by effectively reading schematics, thorough knowledge of electrical/refrigeration theories and symbols. Understanding refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical systems, and equipment operations.
- Repair: Performs necessary repairs to bring back equipment to efficient working order.
- Completes all necessary paperwork, communicates with customer’s owner/manager of work that was completed and any additional work needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND REALTED SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB
- Has minimum of 4 years of parallel rack experience.
- Proficient in daily maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs of grocery refrigeration rack systems.
- Safe driving skills.
- Ability to work and perform the rotational “Emergency On Call” schedule after normal business hours, as scheduled by the company.
- Work, Health, and Safety Skills: Ladder climbing, ability to work on roof and in confined spaces, lifting/bending/reaching, carrying loads – up to 50 lbs., lifting/bending/reaching, torch use, lock out/tag out procedure, use and knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Refrigerant recovery and recycling equipment certification-EPA.

- Can effectively use all associated hand tools, meters, devices, and other equipment for the trade.
- Working Conditions: Working in all weather conditions: hot, cold, wet, and snow. In buildings and mechanical rooms without A/C or heat. Loud noisy equipment and extreme temperatures.
- Must keep work area neat and organized.
